In a significant breakthrough, the Subhash Nagar police station in Bhilwara city successfully solved a vehicle theft case on Monday morning. The authorities arrested two individuals, one of whom is a history-sheeter, and recovered 18 motorcycles from their possession. The police are currently interrogating the accused to uncover their involvement in other thefts across the region.
Special Campaign to Curb Vehicle Thefts
Subhash Nagar police station in-charge Kailash Kumar Bishnoi informed TOI that a special campaign is being conducted under the directives of Bhilwara SP Sagar Rana to address the rising incidents of vehicle theft in the city. As part of this initiative, the police have intensified surveillance and patrolling activities.
Incident and Investigation
On June 5, a senior citizen named Shambhudayal, residing in the police station area, filed a complaint regarding the theft of his motorcycle near Vardhaman School. Following the report, the police examined nearby CCTV footage and launched a thorough investigation. A special team was constituted to track down the culprits.
Arrests and Recoveries
The police arrested Gopal Keer (37) and Bherulal (29), both residents of Suwana in Bhilwara district. During interrogation, the duo confessed to the vehicle theft. Gopal Keer is a known history-sheeter associated with the Sadar police station. The police have recovered 18 motorcycles from the arrested thieves, which are believed to have been stolen from various locations.
The investigation is ongoing, and the police are working to determine if the accused are linked to other theft cases in the city and surrounding areas. The success of this operation highlights the effectiveness of the special campaign against vehicle theft.
