Haryana Advances Sunflower Procurement to May 25 Under PSS
Haryana Advances Sunflower Procurement to May 25

The Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department has advanced the sunflower procurement period under the Price Support Scheme (PSS) by one week, moving the launch date to Monday, May 25, 2026, instead of the previously scheduled June 1. This decision for the rabi marketing season received formal approval from the Governor of Haryana through a revised notification issued on Saturday.

Reason for Preponement

The preponement follows intense pressure from the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) Charuni, which had submitted a formal letter to the state government demanding early procurement to assist local growers. Welcoming the move, BKU Charuni media in-charge Rakesh Kumar Bains urged regional farmers to arrive at the Shahabad grain market in large numbers by 10 am on Monday to ensure a smooth administrative rollout.

Unchanged Terms and Conditions

The state department clarified that while the timeline has been brought forward, all other terms, conditions, and operational parameters regarding the multi-agency sunflower procurement process remain entirely unchanged.
