The executive council of Lucknow University (LU) held a meeting on Friday, granting approval to 25 affiliated colleges to commence undergraduate and postgraduate courses across various disciplines. This decision is expected to expand academic opportunities for students in the region.
Key Decisions by the Executive Council
Inclusion of Special Invitees
The council also approved proposals to include two alumni, two students, and an industry representative as special invitees in the departmental boards of studies. This move aims to bring diverse perspectives into academic decision-making and strengthen ties between the university and its stakeholders.
Standard Operating Procedure for Research Projects
A standard operating procedure (SOP) for project implementation and fund management related to research and institutional projects was also approved. This SOP is designed to streamline processes and ensure efficient utilization of resources.
CSR Collaboration Guidelines
Guidelines for corporate social responsibility (CSR) collaborations were approved to foster stronger partnerships with industries and corporate institutions. These guidelines are expected to facilitate joint initiatives in areas such as scholarships, research projects, centers of excellence, startups, innovation, and infrastructure development.
Vice-Chancellor JP Saini stated, “This will support scholarships, research projects, centres of excellence, startups, innovation and infrastructure development.” The approvals reflect LU’s commitment to enhancing academic offerings and industry engagement.
