Ahmedabad Chemical Blast Death Toll Rises to Two

The death toll in the explosion and subsequent fire at a chemical manufacturing unit in Naroda GIDC Phase III, Ahmedabad, increased to two on Tuesday after another injured worker succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

The victim, identified as Madhur Parmar, had suffered severe burn injuries in the blast that occurred four days ago at MSN Intermediates Pvt Ltd. He was undergoing treatment at a city hospital when he died, police officials confirmed.

The accident took place on Friday afternoon when a boiler allegedly exploded inside the factory, triggering a massive fire and injuring four workers. Earlier, one of the injured workers, Ramesh Mulji Parmar, had died while receiving treatment. With the death of Madhur Parmar, the total number of fatalities has now risen to two.

Following news of his death, family members gathered at the factory premises in Naroda GIDC and demanded strict action against the company management. They sought compensation and accountability, alleging that necessary safety precautions were not taken despite the inherent risks involved in chemical manufacturing.

Police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the blast and whether the unit was complying with prescribed industrial safety rules. Officials stated that further action, if required, will be taken based on the findings of the probe.
