Director Anees Bazmee has confirmed that the much-anticipated sequel 'No Entry 2' is still on track, despite recent scheduling hurdles and ongoing cast changes. In a conversation with HT City, Bazmee put an end to months of speculation by firmly stating that the project is moving forward.
Bazmee Addresses Delay and Cast Changes
When asked about the film's status, Bazmee said, '100 percent the film is happening.' He explained that the delay is mainly a matter of timing, adding, 'Some films have their own destiny. I truly believe that every film has a destiny of its own. Some movies get made quickly, while others take time. But God willing, all of us are making every effort to ensure that this film gets made.'
The director expressed confidence in the script, calling it one of the strongest screenplays he has written. 'I have written this film with great love. It is one of my best-written films. It is taking a little time, but the film is definitely being made,' he said.
Excitement Among the Team Remains High
Bazmee further stated that the excitement among those associated with the film remains intact. 'Everyone associated with this film is extremely excited. And I'm confident that audiences are going to love this film very much,' he added.
The sequel has been making headlines due to its constantly changing cast. Initially announced by producer Boney Kapoor with Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, and Diljit Dosanjh in the lead, the project soon faced reports of scheduling conflicts. Diljit later exited the project, with Boney Kapoor clarifying that the decision was mutual and primarily due to date issues.
Ongoing Cast Speculations
More recently, speculation emerged that Varun Dhawan might also step away from the film, though the makers have maintained that discussions are still ongoing. Amid the uncertainty, reports have linked actors like Shahid Kapoor to the project, but no official confirmation has been made so far. Despite these challenges, Bazmee remains committed to bringing the comedy sequel to the big screen.
