Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, accompanied by his brothers Sohail Khan and Arbaaz Khan, as well as his mother Salma Khan, attended the funeral of their longtime family friend Kumod Raney on Tuesday. The actor appeared visibly emotional as the family paid their final respects at the ceremony.
Veteran actress Helen, a close associate of the family, also attended the funeral and was seen emotional as she left. Sohail Khan escorted her to her car, ensuring her comfort during the somber occasion. Kumod Raney had been a cherished friend of the Khan family for many years, often appearing in photographs with Salman and his relatives.
Heartfelt Tribute from Makeup Artist Sheeba Iqbal
Following Kumod's passing, makeup artist Sheeba Iqbal shared a moving tribute on social media, remembering her as much more than a professional mentor. She wrote: "Today, I remember my beloved boss Kumud Rane Madam with deep respect and gratitude. You were not just a boss to me. You were a kind leader, a mentor, and someone who always encouraged and supported the people around you. While working with you, I learned not only about my profession but also about dedication, professionalism, and the importance of kindness towards others. Your guidance shaped my career, and your trust gave me confidence in my work. Your kindness and support will always remain with me. Though you are no longer among us today, the impact you had on our lives will stay forever. May God grant peace to your soul and bless you with the highest place in heaven. Recent Loss of Another Close Friend
This loss comes just weeks after Salman mourned the death of another close friend, Sushil Kumar, who had been a part of his life for over four decades. Last month, the actor took to social media to express his grief, describing Sushil as more than a friend — someone he considered a brother.
Salman shared old photographs featuring himself, Sushil, and his father Salim Khan, reflecting on their 42-year bond. He remembered Sushil as an exceptionally kind-hearted and generous person. According to Salman, no matter the circumstances — whether financial struggles, emotional challenges, or health issues — Sushil never lost his smile. He continued to face life with positivity, often dancing and laughing even during difficult times.
Recalling his friend's outlook on life, Salman revealed that Sushil would often say, "Ki farak nai painda, sab theek hoga" (It doesn't matter, everything will be okay). The actor also described him as a fighter who confronted death with the courage of a heavyweight champion.
In his emotional note, Salman wrote, "Tumhare liye meri aankhon mein aansu nahi hain bhai, balki sirf tumhari yaadein aur hansi hai. Mera bhai chehre par muskaan liye duniya se gaya." (There are no tears in my eyes for you, brother — only your memories and laughter. My brother left this world with a smile on his face.)
