The cast of 'House of the Dragon' assembled at the London Odeon Luxe in Leicester Square for the show's premiere event. While interacting with the media, the actors could not resist sharing exclusive insights into the new season. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, D'Arcy teased that her character, Rhaenyra Targaryen, will experience a surge of momentum this time around. She elaborated, 'There is a feeling that the position she finds herself in is fated in some way... [It's a] character who has been kind of restrained from action for two seasons [who is] finally on the precipice of seizing her end.'
Matt Smith, who portrays Daemon Targaryen, also divulged what viewers can look forward to. He stated, 'I think they've aimed for scale, blood. It's a big bloodbath, really, this season, which is absolutely where it's needed to go. I think that's when the show is actually operating at its best in many ways — particularly for Daemon.'
What Lies Ahead in Season 3
The upcoming season of the 'Game of Thrones' spinoff, scheduled for release on OTT platforms on June 21, revolves around the infamous Dance of the Dragons war. In a bid to assert her dominance, Rhaenyra intends to execute Aegon in front of a crowd as a deterrent.
Several key actors from previous seasons are returning, including Emma D'Arcy, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Fabien Frankel, Steve Toussaint, Harry Collett, Tom Glynn-Carney, Ewan Mitchell, Bethany Antonia, and Phoebe Campbell. With promises of intense drama, large-scale battles, and shocking twists, season 3 is shaping up to be the most explosive installment yet.
