India Urges Global Action Against Pakistan Over PoK Brutality

India has strongly condemned the ongoing brutality in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and called upon the international community to hold Pakistan accountable for its actions. In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Ministry of External Affairs expressed deep concern over the deteriorating human rights situation in the region, citing reports of widespread repression, arbitrary detentions, and extrajudicial killings.

India's Strong Condemnation

The Indian government reiterated its unwavering support for the people of PoK and urged global powers to take note of the systematic violations. "We hope the international community will hold Pakistan accountable for its atrocities in PoK," said an official spokesperson. The statement highlighted that Pakistan's actions are a clear violation of international law and UN resolutions.

Escalating Violence in PoK

Recent months have seen a surge in violence in PoK, with reports of crackdowns on peaceful protesters and political activists. Human rights organizations have documented numerous cases of enforced disappearances and torture. India has consistently raised these issues at international forums, calling for an independent investigation into the abuses.

International Response Sought

India's appeal comes ahead of key UN meetings where the Kashmir issue is expected to be discussed. New Delhi has urged countries to pressure Islamabad to cease its repressive policies. "Pakistan must understand that its actions are being closely watched by the world," the spokesperson added.

The Ministry also pointed to the economic exploitation of PoK by Pakistan, alleging that resources meant for development are being diverted to fund terrorism. India has called for a comprehensive strategy to address both human rights and security concerns in the region.
