A comprehensive review meeting regarding the implementation of Census 2027 operations in Bandipora district was chaired on Sunday by Chief Principal Census Officer (CPCO)-cum-Director Census Operations (DCO) for Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, Amit Sharma, along with Principal Census Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib.

Briefing on Census Operations
At the outset, the officers briefed the CPCO on the implementation of Census 2027 operations in the district and the arrangements that have been put in place for the smooth conduct of the ongoing House Listing Operations. The briefing covered various aspects of the census process, including logistical arrangements, training of personnel, and community engagement strategies.
Significance of Census 2027
Speaking on the occasion, Amit Sharma laid emphasis on the historical and national significance of Census 2027. He stated that the entire future planning and policy framework of the country would be based on the data generated through the census exercise. He urged all officials to ensure accuracy and completeness in data collection, as the census data would be crucial for policy formulation and resource allocation at both national and regional levels.
Sharma also highlighted the importance of public cooperation in the census process and directed the officials to conduct awareness campaigns to educate citizens about their role in providing accurate information.
