The Central Railway's Mumbai division is set to implement a megablock on its suburban sections today to facilitate essential engineering and maintenance work. Notably, no megablocks are scheduled on the Western Railway suburban section.
Main Line Block Details
On the Main Line, the block will be enforced on the Matunga–Mulund slow lines from 11:05 am to 3:55 pm. Up slow line services departing from Thane between 11:07 am and 3:51 pm will be diverted to the Up fast line between Mulund and Matunga stations. These trains will make stops at Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar, Kurla, and Sion stations before being re-diverted to the Up slow line at Matunga station. Commuters should expect delays of approximately 15 minutes in reaching their destinations.
During the block period, trains will not halt at Vidyavihar, Kanjur Marg, and Nahur stations on both the Up and Down lines. Additionally, all Up and Down line services departing from or arriving at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm are anticipated to run around 15 minutes late.
Harbour Line Block Details
On the Harbour Line, the block will be carried out on the CSMT–Chunabhatti/Bandra Down Harbour line from 11:40 am to 4:40 pm. Similarly, the Chunabhatti/Bandra–CSMT Up Harbour line will be affected from 11:10 am to 4:10 pm. Special services will operate between Panvel and Kurla (Platform No. 8) at a frequency of 20 minutes during the block period. Furthermore, Harbour Line passengers will be permitted to travel via the Main Line and Western Railway until 6:00 pm today.
Commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and allow for extra travel time.
