The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) on Tuesday constituted a committee to investigate the operations and management of Ekana International Cricket Stadium and the associated sports infrastructure project. Officials stated that the panel will conduct a site inspection of the stadium and related facilities to evaluate whether maintenance, security, and other services are being managed according to prescribed standards.
Committee's Mandate and Timeline
LDA Vice-Chairperson Prathamesh Kumar has directed the committee to submit a detailed report within 15 days. Based on the findings, the authority will decide on further actions. The committee's inspection aims to assess compliance with operational protocols and identify any discrepancies in service delivery.
Routine Exercise Clarified
The Ekana administration clarified that the survey is part of a routine exercise conducted regularly by the LDA. This is not a special investigation but a standard procedure to ensure the stadium and its facilities meet required benchmarks.
The probe covers all aspects of stadium management, including maintenance of pitches, seating, lighting, security arrangements, and cleanliness. The committee will also review the performance of contractors and service providers involved in the stadium's operations.
This move comes amid growing attention to sports infrastructure in Lucknow, with Ekana Stadium hosting major international and domestic matches. The LDA's proactive approach aims to uphold high standards for one of the city's premier sporting venues.
