Residents of Faizullaganj and adjoining areas in Lucknow are set to experience a significant water shortage on the evening of Thursday, June 11. This disruption is due to the replacement of key water control valves at the Faizullaganj overhead tank (OHT), as announced by officials from the Jal Kal department on Tuesday.
Reason for Water Disruption
The Jal Kal department is replacing old sluice valves, which are large valves that regulate water flow in pipelines. This maintenance work aims to enhance the efficiency of the water supply system. Consequently, the evening water supply from the Faizullaganj OHT will remain suspended during the replacement process.
Affected Areas
The following localities will be impacted by the water shortage:
- Keshavnagar
- Naya Purwa
- Faizullaganj village
- Yash Nagar
- Noori Kabadi
Residents in these areas are advised to store sufficient water in advance to minimize inconvenience.
Alternative Arrangements
Kuldeep Singh, General Manager of Jal Kal, stated that water tankers will be arranged in the affected areas if required to ensure an uninterrupted supply during the disruption. Residents can contact the area junior engineer at 8173004084 or the officials responsible for water tanker coordination at 8173004083 for any assistance.
This proactive measure by the Jal Kal department underscores its commitment to improving the water supply infrastructure while mitigating the impact on residents. The department urges cooperation and understanding from the public during this essential maintenance work.
