UP CM Yogi Adityanath Orders Weekly Chaupals for Grievances

Taking strong governance to the doorstep, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday asked senior officials to hold weekly chaupals in every block to resolve grievances of the people. A schedule will be prepared to cover all development blocks in the state, allowing villagers to approach the team of officials with their issues during these chaupals.

Focus on Timely Dispute Resolution

Yogi emphasized that disputes between rural households over petty issues often escalate into violent incidents if time-bound and fair disposal does not take place. On-spot resolutions will be offered to villagers through discussions and deliberations. Revenue, law and order, and societal issues have been listed as top priority areas. District magistrates will be involved in preparing the schedule for the weekly chaupals and deputing senior officials to deliver solutions in a time-bound and transparent manner.

Festival Preparations and Safety Measures

The CM directed officials to maintain special vigilance in view of the upcoming festivals of Ganga Dussehra and Bakrid. He reiterated that animal sacrifice at public places will not be permitted, and there will be a complete ban on the sacrifice of prohibited animals. Sacrifices will be allowed only at pre-designated locations, and no new traditions will be encouraged.

Regarding religious practices, the CM directed that namaz should be offered only at traditional sites, and permission should not be granted for blocking roads to offer prayers. He further instructed every district to ensure a well-planned mechanism for disposal of waste generated after sacrifices. Open sale of meat must remain prohibited, and illegal slaughterhouses must not operate under any circumstances.

Security and Infrastructure Arrangements

Special attention was ordered for electricity supply, sanitation, and security arrangements during the festivals. Flag marches in sensitive areas and continuous foot patrols around religious places were directed. Interacting with district magistrates and police chiefs of sensitive districts including Aligarh, Bijnor, Saharanpur, Rampur, and Sambhal, the CM asked them to review past incidents, identify potential troublemakers, and take preventive action. Regular dialogue with peace committees at police station, tehsil, and district levels was also emphasized.

For Ganga Dussehra, the CM directed cleanliness of ghats, barricading, ambulance deployment, shaded facilities, and parking management in Prayagraj, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Chitrakoot, Hapur, Muzaffarnagar, and Amroha, stressing heat-related safety for devotees.

Additional Directives

He also ordered campaigns against vehicles without number plates, formation of task forces against illegal mining, intensified action against land mafia, and immediate posting of Chief Medical Officers where vacancies exist.
