Jhajjar Man Arrested for Axe Attack on Mother Over Money

Jhajjar police have arrested a man who allegedly attacked his mother with an axe and a saw over a money dispute, days after the incident. The accused, identified as Rajesh of Khetawas village in Jhajjar district, had been absconding and carried a reward of Rs 5,000 on his arrest.

Incident Details

According to police, the incident occurred in the Chhuchhakwas area under Beri police station limits. The victim had returned home from work and was standing in the street when Rajesh allegedly approached her armed with an axe and a saw, demanding money. When she refused, an argument broke out, following which he allegedly attacked her, leaving her critically injured. She was rushed to a hospital for treatment.

Arrest and Investigation

After an FIR was registered, Jhajjar police launched a search operation. Acting on intelligence inputs, a team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Mukesh Kumar of Chhuchhakwas police outpost arrested the accused after tracking him across multiple locations. Police recovered the axe and saw allegedly used in the attack during interrogation. The accused was produced before a court and later sent to judicial custody after police remand.
