The Vadodara crime branch has apprehended a 26-year-old man for allegedly snatching a gold chain from a woman during her morning walk in Subhanpura on May 19. The accused, identified as Tushar Parmar, a resident of Ahmedabad, was arrested based on a tip-off near Amitnagar Circle.
Details of the Incident
According to police, Parmar arrived in Vadodara on the morning of the incident and hired a two-wheeler. He then targeted the woman who was out for a walk, approaching her on a scooter under the pretext of asking for an address. As the woman responded, he allegedly moved closer and snatched her gold chain, valued at approximately Rs 1.10 lakh, before fleeing the scene.
Arrest and Recovery
Following a tip-off, the crime branch detained the suspect near Amitnagar Circle. During a search, police recovered a broken gold chain from his possession. On questioning, Parmar allegedly confessed to the offense, stating that he committed the crime shortly after arriving in the city. He later returned the hired vehicle before attempting to leave Vadodara.
The police have registered a case and are investigating further. The recovered gold chain will be returned to the victim after legal procedures.
