Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Tuesday termed the attack on Shahabad Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sushil Mishra in Hardoi as “unfortunate and extremely alarming” and urged the Uttar Pradesh government to take the matter seriously.
Attack on SDM During Inspection
In a post on social media platform X, Mayawati stated that Mishra was assaulted by hooligans who pelted him with bricks and stones while he was conducting an inspection. The officer sustained injuries and was subsequently admitted to a hospital for treatment.
Call for Preventive Measures
Mayawati emphasized that such incidents must be prevented to ensure the smooth functioning of government operations and to check alleged corruption. She warned that attacks on officials reflect the presence of anarchic elements and pose a significant threat to law and order in the state.
