The National Investigation Agency (NIA), which is currently investigating the Bengaluru prison radicalization-terror module case, has announced a substantial reward of Rs 5 lakh for individuals who provide information leading to the arrest of Junaid Ahmed. This suspect, also known by aliases such as Junaid, JD, and Jannu, is believed to be hiding abroad, evading authorities in connection with serious terror-related charges.

Junaid Ahmed has emerged as a central figure in the prison radicalization and terror conspiracy cases that are linked to the notorious terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. The investigation, which dates back to 2023, revealed that a group of mostly undertrial prisoners was conspiring to carry out explosions in Bengaluru. These individuals were allegedly tutored and guided by T Naseer, the prime accused in the devastating July 2008 Bengaluru serial blast, highlighting the deep-rooted nature of this terror network.
In a significant development, police conducted a raid at Junaid's residence in Nagashettihalli, located in north Bengaluru.
