The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi following his reported comment at a Congress event that the current government will fall within a year. The BJP termed the statement a pointer to a conspiracy aimed at stoking anarchy and destabilizing the country.
BJP leaders coordinate attack on Rahul Gandhi
Several BJP functionaries, including Union minister Piyush Goyal and party spokesperson Sambit Patra, joined the chorus against the Congress MP. Goyal alleged that Rahul and his associates have realized that they cannot defeat the BJP in a democratic contest and are now seeking to spread violence in the country. He claimed that their hatred for India runs so deep that they cannot bear to see anything positive happening in the nation.
"People of this country are discerning. They fully understand the true nature of Rahul Gandhi, the opposition, and the toolkit gang that is working against the national interest. People have repeatedly given them a befitting reply. The INDI alliance's conspiracy to set India on fire will never succeed," Goyal added.
BJP spokesperson alleges foreign agenda
Sambit Patra alleged that Rahul's remarks made it clear that he was pursuing a "foreign agenda" at the behest of his "masters" like George Soros and foreign companies that fund his overseas travel, with an intent to end democracy in India. Patra emphasized that India is progressing under Prime Minister Narendra Modi even as several countries face problems due to ongoing conflicts in different parts of the world. "As long as this government enjoys the blessings of the people, it will continue to serve the country," he said.
The BJP's coordinated attack comes amid heightened political tensions, with the ruling party accusing the opposition of attempting to destabilize the government through undemocratic means. The Congress party is yet to officially respond to the BJP's allegations.
