KC Venugopal says CJP reflects growing youth unrest in India
KC Venugopal: CJP reflects growing youth unrest in India

Congress leader K C Venugopal has said that the 'CJP' (Civil Jihad Party or similar acronym) movement is a reflection of the growing unrest among the youth in the country. He made the remarks while responding to a question, asserting that the biggest problem India faces today is the absence of a government willing to address the issues of its people.

Venugopal's statement on youth discontent

Speaking to media persons on Sunday, Venugopal said that the rising popularity of the CJP among young voters is a clear indicator of their frustration with the current administration. He accused the ruling party of failing to deliver on promises related to employment, education, and economic growth.

The Congress general secretary also pointed out that the youth are increasingly turning to alternative platforms to voice their concerns, as traditional political channels have become unresponsive. He warned that if the government does not take immediate corrective measures, the unrest could escalate further.

Government's response to criticism

In response, ruling party spokespersons dismissed Venugopal's claims, stating that the CJP is a fringe element with no significant support. They argued that the government has launched several initiatives for youth welfare, including skill development programs and startup funding schemes.

However, political analysts note that the CJP has gained traction in several states, particularly among first-time voters. The movement, which began as a social media campaign, has now evolved into a political entity challenging established parties in local elections.

Venugopal concluded by urging the government to listen to the youth and engage in meaningful dialogue, rather than dismissing their concerns as baseless. He emphasized that the future of Indian democracy depends on addressing the aspirations of its young population.
