In a tragic incident on the Pilibhit-Madhotanda road, four individuals, including a five-year-old boy, sustained injuries after a mini truck collided head-on with their car near a forest stretch around 5 am on Sunday. The truck driver fled the scene immediately after the accident, and a search operation is underway to apprehend him, according to police officials.
Details of the Accident
The victims were en route to the Sidh Baba temple located in the Mala forest range to organize a charitable feast for underprivileged individuals. The car was driven by Mahesh Chandra, aged 35, a resident of Deurania village, who suffered a fracture in his leg. Other injured individuals include Hitesh (5 years old), Bhagwan Das (45), and Tara Chandra (32), all residents of Basantpur village.
Medical Response
All the injured were promptly taken to the Autonomous State Medical College hospital in Pilibhit for medical treatment. Their conditions are reported to be stable, and they are receiving necessary care.
Police Investigation
Station House Officer (SHO) Brajveer Singh stated that a formal First Information Report (FIR) will be registered upon receiving a written complaint from the victims' side. The police are actively searching for the absconding truck driver and are investigating the circumstances leading to the collision.
The accident occurred on a stretch of road near the forest area, which is known for its winding paths and limited visibility during early morning hours. Authorities are urging drivers to exercise caution while traveling in such areas.
