A 24-year-old engineering student was discovered dead under suspicious circumstances in his paying guest (PG) accommodation in Ballari on Tuesday. The victim's family has alleged foul play after observing injuries on his body.

Victim Identified

The deceased has been identified as Vishwanath, a resident of T Rampur village in Siruguppa taluk. He was pursuing an engineering degree at a college in Ballari and was residing in a PG facility located in Ashok Nagar.

Discovery and Injuries

Vishwanath's body was found hanging inside his room on Tuesday. The student sustained serious injuries to his head and chest, which led his family to suspect that he was murdered rather than having died by suicide.

Preliminary information suggests that Vishwanath had an altercation with his PG roommates on Monday. However, police officials have stated that the exact cause of his death is yet to be ascertained.

Investigation Underway

Kaul Bazaar police visited the spot, registered a case, and launched an investigation. Authorities are examining the scene and gathering statements from witnesses and roommates to determine the circumstances leading to the death.
