Telangana CM Revanth Reddy vows direct business to SHG women

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will soon tour parliamentary constituencies in Telangana to provide direct government business to members of self-help groups (SHGs). Addressing a public meeting at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad after flagging off 553 buses amidst rain, the CM urged SHG women to prepare business plans. "We will not only give you investment support but also business. There is no place for middlemen or commission agents in the Congress government. Women will get business directly from the government," Revanth said.

However, he did not provide specific details about the nature of the business to be offered. He expressed confidence that the Congress government led by him would continue in the state until 2034.

During the event, Revanth travelled in one of the buses for 100 metres to the venue. The CM, along with minister Seethakka and others, got drenched in the rain, which Revanth termed a blessing from the rain god for women development.

Government Support for SHG Women

The CM announced that SHG women would be made owners of not just 1,000 but 3,000 buses. The state government will facilitate them to lease these vehicles to TGSRTC and earn a monthly income. He reiterated that the Congress government would not rest until one crore women become crorepatis.

Crop Diversification Awareness

CM Revanth Reddy called upon SHG groups to create awareness among farmers about the need for crop diversification to make agriculture more profitable. "Tell them the importance of cultivating pulses, vegetables, and fruits that can be exported. The government will extend all technical, transportation, and financial support to SHG women to go to Rythu Vedikas and convene farmers' meetings in villages to create awareness about crop diversification, as the new crop season is starting with rains hitting the state," Revanth said.
