Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday issued a stern warning against those who lack faith and loyalty towards India, stating that such individuals cannot treat the nation's land as a 'dharamshala' (free inn). Speaking at the closing ceremony of the nine-day Ramkatha Mahotsav in Lucknow, he emphasized that those who betrayed Lord Ram found no place on earth.
Ramkatha Narrated by Swami Rambhadracharya
The event featured the narration of Ramkatha by Tulsi Peethadheeshwar Jagadguru Swami Rambhadracharya. The Chief Minister praised the seer for establishing India's first university for people with disabilities in Chitrakoot and serving as its Chancellor. Despite his age, Rambhadracharya continues to spread the message of Ram for national welfare, Yogi noted.
Warning Against Love Jihad and Land Jihad
Yogi Adityanath issued a strong warning against what he termed 'love jihad' and 'land jihad', urging society to unite against such challenges. He stated that forces seeking to divide people will attempt to create divisions based on caste, language, and region, but the saintly traditions of India aim to unite society and take the nation forward.
The Chief Minister also criticized the practice of setting up tents on vacant land and claiming possession, calling for an end to such activities. He drew parallels to demons who forcibly occupied land in ancient times, stressing that society must remain prepared to confront such elements.
Ram Janmabhoomi Movement and Supreme Court Verdict
Yogi highlighted that the Ram Janmabhoomi movement continued for 491 years, culminating in the 2019 Supreme Court judgment affirming that the place where Ram Lalla is enshrined is indeed the birthplace of Lord Ram. He praised seers who made the movement a matter of life and death without seeking personal credit, because Ram represents the ideal for all within India's traditions and heritage.
Unity Through the Name of Ram
The Chief Minister asserted that the very name of Ram has the power to unite every Indian from north to south and east to west. He noted that except for a few individuals influenced by politics and prejudice, every Indian carrying India's DNA has embraced the ideals of Ram in life.
He cited examples of Maricha and Ravana, who were born into noble lineages and privileged circumstances yet met a bad end because they committed treachery against Ram. Yogi emphasized that negative forces emerge in every era, and society's positive forces should remain united and prepared to confront them.
Call to Live by Ideals
Concluding his address, Yogi Adityanath urged people to make the ideals of Ram and Shiva a part of their daily lives. He encouraged individuals to strive to live according to those ideals and inspire family members to do the same, stating that the name of Ram provides solutions to every problem in life.
