Ram Charan Apologises for Mixing Up Jasprit Bumrah with Footballer
Ram Charan Apologises for Bumrah Name Mix-Up

Actor Ram Charan recently grabbed attention at the grand music launch of his upcoming film "Peddi" in Bhopal, where he appeared alongside renowned composer AR Rahman, actress Janhvi Kapoor, and the rest of the film's team. During a light-hearted interaction with the media, the actor was asked to describe some of India's top cricketers in just a few words. He called Sachin Tendulkar's career a "Long legendary run," described MS Dhoni as "calm and cool," and said Rohit Sharma is "He's everybody's man." For Virat Kohli, he simply said, "Fire." However, when talking about Jasprit Bumrah, Ram Charan said he was his biggest fan but accidentally mixed up cricket with football while praising him. The clip of this moment quickly went viral online.

Later, Ram Charan apologized for the mistake on social media. He wrote, "Uff… I'm genuinely so forgetful with names sometimes. Apologies to @Jaspritbumrah93 Ji for the mix-up - it was a genuine human error in the middle of all the excitement and the crowd." He added that he deeply respected Bumrah and admired how the fast bowler makes Indians proud with his performances.

Jasprit Bumrah's IPL 2026 Season with Mumbai Indians

While Bumrah is currently playing for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2026, the season has not gone smoothly for him. MI head coach Mahela Jayawardene revealed that the pacer had been dealing with a slight injury since the T20 World Cup. Because of this, the team gave him extra rest before the IPL began.

Jayawardene explained that Bumrah slowly rebuilt his rhythm during the first few matches, which affected his pace and sharpness. Even though he managed only four wickets in 13 games, opposition teams still played cautiously against him. The coach said Bumrah worked hard on his fitness, no-balls, and workload management throughout the tournament.

Despite the difficult season, Jayawardene believes Bumrah is now close to his best again. He said the pacer regained his speed, yorkers, and confidence in the last few matches. Praising Bumrah's attitude, the coach said the bowler always stayed positive and focused on improving. Jayawardene concluded that there are no major concerns about Bumrah and expects him to "come back strong."
