Ranchi: The state agriculture department is preparing to host the mega Jharkhand Krishi Vyapar Mela 2026 as part of its initiative to promote agricultural innovation and rural entrepreneurship. Officials announced on Tuesday that the fair will be held at Morabadi ground from June 16 to 18, with Chief Minister Hemant Soren inaugurating the event.
Preparations in Final Stage
Officials confirmed that preparations have entered the final phase, with workers engaged in finishing work across the venue. Preparations began on May 28 and are scheduled to be completed by June 13. During a visit to the venue, large exhibition pavilions, temporary structures, and event infrastructure were seen taking shape. “Most of the construction work has been completed, and we are now carrying out the finishing work,” said a worker involved in the preparations.
Exhibition and Stalls
Addressing the media, state agriculture director Bidyanand Sharma Pankaj stated that around 200 stalls will be set up at the mela. “The main objective is to showcase the latest agricultural techniques, innovations, and equipment so that farmers in Jharkhand can become aware of modern developments in agriculture,” he said. Pankaj added that the mela will highlight new agricultural practices focused on achieving higher productivity with lower input costs. Stalls showcasing developments in horticulture, dairy farming, animal husbandry, and allied agricultural sectors will also be featured. Various agricultural products and technologies will be displayed for farmers and visitors.
Participants and Sessions
The mela will bring together farmers, traders, agri-startups, researchers, machinery manufacturers, and policymakers from different parts of Jharkhand and other states. Thematic sessions will be organized, where experts from agricultural universities and institutions across the country will share their knowledge and interact with participants. This event aims to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange to drive agricultural growth in the region.
