RBI Invites Young Professionals with Rs 1.5 Lakh Monthly Stipend

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has called for online applications from eligible candidates for engagement as Young Professionals (YP) across various specialized domains at its Central Office Departments in Mumbai. The selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly stipend of Rs 1,50,000.

Position Details and Stipend

According to the official notification, the recruitment drive aims to fill 12 positions in fields including artificial intelligence, quantum technology, cyber security, and climate change risk. The initial contract tenure is three years, extendable by mutual agreement up to a maximum of five years. The engagement is strictly on a full-time contract basis and does not constitute regular employment.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be Indian citizens aged between 21 and 30 years as of July 6, 2026, which is also the deadline for submitting online applications. The RBI has outlined strict guidelines regarding performance, working hours, and financial compensation for the contracted professionals.

Stipend and Benefits: A fixed monthly stipend of Rs 1,50,000, subject to applicable tax deductions, will be paid for the entire engagement duration. No other allowances or benefits will be provided.

Contractual Obligations

Selected candidates are prohibited from undertaking any other employment during the contract period. The notification states: "The YP will be engaged on contract basis for a limited period on full-time basis. On being engaged by the Bank, the YP shall not undertake any part-time work for a private or public body or a private person, etc. or accept fee therefore, without prior permission of the Bank, in writing." It further clarifies that the engagement does not create an employer-employee relationship.

Working Hours and Leave

Professionals must adhere to standard office hours without additional compensation for overtime. They are entitled to 15 days of leave per calendar year, accrued on a pro-rata basis, which cannot be carried forward. Unauthorized absence for eight consecutive working days may lead to contract termination.

Joining Timeline and Conditions

Candidates are expected to join around August to October 2026. Upon selection, they must submit a medical fitness certificate, a satisfactory police verification report, and execute a formal agreement adhering to a strict code of conduct and secrecy.
