Minister Highlights Record Attendance
Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya visited Bharat Buildcon 2026 at Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi on Day 3, stating that the first two days of the exhibition surpassed the total footfall of the entire previous edition. The event, India's flagship exhibition for building materials, construction, and infrastructure, has drawn visitors from over 90 countries and more than 100 Indian cities.
Interaction with Exhibitors and Buyers
During his visit, Mandaviya interacted with exhibitors, industry leaders, manufacturers, and international buyers, reviewing the latest innovations showcased by Indian companies. He remarked that Bharat Buildcon has emerged as a highly successful platform in its first edition, with visitor numbers nearly double those of many industry exhibitions over their entire duration. This reflects the growing strength of India's building materials and construction ecosystem, he said.
Global Participation and Business Networking
The exhibition covers 24 major categories, including ceramics, stone, hardware, cement, steel, plywood, laminates, furniture, bathware, and allied construction products. Mr. Vishal Acharya, Director of Bharat Buildcon, noted that the presence of buyers from over 90 countries demonstrates increasing global confidence in India's manufacturing capabilities. The platform enables Indian companies to connect directly with international buyers, explore export opportunities, and build long-term business partnerships, strengthening India's position as a global sourcing hub.
Impact on Domestic Industry
Mr. Jitendra Kathiriya, Director of Bharat Buildcon, highlighted that participants and visitors from more than 100 Indian cities have made the event a truly national business platform. The exhibition generates opportunities across the entire value chain—from manufacturers and exporters to distributors, architects, contractors, and project developers. The response in the first three days reflects the enormous growth potential of India's building materials sector, he added.
Support for Make in India and Exports
Mr. Nilesh Jetpariya, Chairman of CAPEXIL, stated that platforms such as Bharat Buildcon are critical for promoting exports and strengthening India's global trade footprint. The event brings together international buyers and Indian manufacturers under one roof, accelerating business growth and supporting the vision of Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat. Mr. Vijay Aghara, Director of Bharat Buildcon, added that business meetings and buyer-seller interactions will translate into long-term commercial benefits for exhibitors.
Economic Significance of Construction Sector
India's building materials and construction sector remains a strong pillar of economic growth, contributing significantly to GDP and supporting millions of jobs. With large-scale investments in housing, transportation, smart cities, and industrial corridors, demand for building materials is expected to witness sustained growth. The exhibition continues until June 21, 2026, providing a powerful platform for business growth, technology exchange, and international collaboration.
