Tata Group-owned online grocery platform Bigbasket has announced the elevation of Seshu Kumar Tirumala to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective immediately. The announcement was made on Thursday, marking a significant leadership milestone for the company.
New Role and Responsibilities
In his new capacity, Seshu Kumar Tirumala will oversee the operations division and play a pivotal role in driving execution as Bigbasket continues to strengthen its quick commerce business and scale its operations for future growth. The company stated that his leadership will be instrumental in enhancing operational efficiency and customer experience.
Tenure and Previous Roles
Seshu has been associated with Bigbasket since 2014, when he joined as National Head of Buying and Merchandising. Over the years, he rose through the ranks to become Chief Buying and Merchandising Officer. His deep understanding of the business and proven track record have been key to his promotion.
