Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh, described as India's first AI-augmented multidisciplinary university, has announced the introduction of 17 new academic programs starting from the 2026 academic session. The new offerings include 5 postgraduate and 12 undergraduate courses spanning Engineering, Arts, Computer Applications, Sciences, Fashion, Law, and Management. This expansion is aimed at aligning higher education with emerging industry needs and preparing students for technology-driven careers.

New Programs Across Engineering and Technology

The university has introduced B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering, B.Tech in Robotics and Automation, and B.Tech (Hons.) CSE in IoT and AI to address growing demand in advanced technology and automation. The Aerospace Engineering curriculum includes advanced themes such as machine learning, deep learning, and digital twins, integrating mechanical, electrical, electronics, and computer engineering. The B.Tech (Hons.) CSE in IoT and AI focuses on interconnected systems, data analytics, embedded systems, and Industry 4.0 applications. Additionally, an M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) aims to strengthen skills in big data, machine learning, predictive modeling, and applied data analysis.

Management and Computer Applications Programs

In management, the university has launched an MBA in Human Resources designed to develop professionals who can align people strategy with organizational goals. The program emphasizes experiential learning and practical exposure to tools such as R, SQL, Python, and Tableau, along with AI-driven business applications. For computer applications, the university has introduced BCA in AI and Machine Learning and MCA in Data Science. These programs cover machine learning, data analytics, cloud technologies, full-stack programming, and AI applications using frameworks like Python, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.

Liberal Arts, Psychology, and Hospitality

The newly introduced BA (Hons.) Liberal Arts and BA (Hons.) Psychology programs aim to strengthen critical thinking, communication, and behavioral understanding. The Liberal Arts curriculum supports human-centered thinking in an AI-enhanced environment, while Psychology covers clinical, developmental, neuropsychology, and contemporary themes like social media psychology and cyber psychology. The university has also expanded into service-sector education with B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Management and B.Sc. in Airlines and Airport Management, preparing students for careers in hospitality, aviation, and travel.

Science, Research, and Legal Studies

Recognizing opportunities in research and health sciences, the university has introduced B.Sc. Microbiology and M.Sc. Biotechnology. The Biotechnology program is research-focused with emphasis on genomics, molecular biology, bioprocess technology, and bioinformatics. Microbiology connects core scientific learning with practical application. For legal education, a one-year LL.M. program offers specializations in constitutional law, business law, criminal law, and human rights, preparing graduates for legal practice, academia, corporate advisory, and policymaking.

Industry Collaborations and Broader Vision

Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh has expanded industry-linked offerings through collaborations with AON for MBA in Strategic HR and Deloitte for BBA (Hons.) in Business Analytics. The university already offers multiple industry-collaborative programs with leading partners. Jai Inder Sandhu, Managing Director of Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh, stated: "After getting overwhelming response in first academic year itself, India's first AI-Augmented Multidisciplinary University, Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh has introduced 17 new academic programs from 2026 academic session. The launch reflects a larger attempt to align higher education with an economy shaped by artificial intelligence, data, automation, and multidisciplinary problem-solving.
