Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh (CU UP) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Film Society of India (FSI) to establish a 'Film Gurukul Studio' on its campus, aiming to provide students with experiential learning in media and filmmaking. The collaboration will offer industry-oriented training, internship opportunities, hands-on exposure to filmmaking, workshops, masterclasses, live industry projects, and guest lectures from FSI's network of filmmakers and media professionals.

MoU Signing Ceremony

The MoU was signed between CU UP's School of Media Studies and FSI in the presence of Dr. TP Singh, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh, and Dr. Durgesh Pathak, President of the Film Society of India, along with other senior officials.

Collaborative Activities and Opportunities

Under the agreement, CU UP and FSI will jointly organize film festivals, media conclaves, screenings, and cultural events to enrich the campus creative ecosystem. The partnership also encourages collaborative research, publications, and creative media projects of academic and cultural significance, fostering an environment of entrepreneurship and innovation in media, entertainment, and creative arts. Students will gain access to short-term courses and specialized training programs covering filmmaking and media production, combining theoretical knowledge with practical learning in storytelling, cinematography, editing, sound design, and production processes.
