Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal recently held strategic meetings with luxury conglomerate LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE and beauty giant L'Oreal Groupe, focusing on enhancing manufacturing, exports, and investment in India. The discussions underscore the government's efforts to integrate Indian skills and cultural heritage into the global luxury supply chain.

Meeting with LVMH

In his meeting with Vincent Astoux, International Relations Director of LVMH, Goyal deliberated on expanding manufacturing operations in India to boost exports. The talks also emphasized investing in local talent, promoting Indian culture through future partnerships, and fostering balanced and mutually beneficial trade ties. Sharing details on social media platform X, Goyal stated, "Held a productive meeting with Mr. Vincent Astoux, International Relations Director of @LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE. Discussion focused on strengthening manufacturing in India to expand exports, investing in local talent, promoting Indian culture through future collaborations, and advancing balanced & mutually beneficial trade partnerships." LVMH, founded in 1987 after the merger of Moet Hennessy and Louis Vuitton, is a global leader in luxury goods, encompassing brands in fashion, jewelry, perfumes, and wines.

Engagement with L'Oreal

Goyal also held discussions with a delegation from L'Oreal Groupe, led by Vismay Sharma, President of the South Asia Pacific, Middle East, and North Africa Zone. The talks centered on increasing sourcing, manufacturing, and exports from India, while exploring new opportunities for the country's beauty and personal care sector. In another post on X, the minister noted that the discussions focused on "strengthening sourcing, manufacturing, and exports from India," as the government continues to position India as a global manufacturing and export hub across sectors, including beauty and personal care. Goyal further highlighted L'Oreal's recent expansion in India through its technology operations. "Given that L'Oreal launched the world's largest Beauty Tech Global Capacity Centre in Hyderabad recently, explored avenues to unlock greater opportunities for India's beauty & personal care sector," the minister said.
