Gandhinagar: The new industrial policy has adopted a 360-degree approach for incentivising women and first-generation entrepreneurs. The policy document stated that the aim is to create an enabling ecosystem that lowers entry barriers, strengthens entrepreneurial capabilities, and supports women across the full enterprise lifecycle from ideation to scaling and market integration.
Key Incentives for Women Entrepreneurs
Across manufacturing and service sectors, women entrepreneurs will receive an additional 1% interest subsidy. Specialised skill refresher courses will be run for women who return to industry after a break. In addition, an assistance of 75% of rent paid (up to Rs 3 lakh per annum) will be offered to women entrepreneurs for a period of five years.
“There is special focus on incentives to women entrepreneurs, especially those who return to business after a sabbatical of four or five years,” said Mamta Verma, ACS, industries and mines department.
Support for Women-Led Startups
The officer said that under the new industrial policy, a provision has been made for enhanced assistance to women-led startups. The policy document said that a sustenance allowance of Rs 30,000 per month will be provided to startups with women co-founders for a period of up to two years.
This comprehensive approach aims to reduce barriers and encourage greater participation of women in the state's industrial growth.
