India Set for Record $863 Billion Exports: Goyal

India is set to achieve a record export figure of $863 billion, according to Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. Speaking at an industry event, Goyal highlighted the robust growth in both merchandise and services exports, which have propelled the country towards this historic milestone.

Strong Performance Across Sectors

The minister attributed the anticipated record to strong performances in key sectors such as engineering goods, pharmaceuticals, and information technology services. He noted that the government's focus on improving ease of doing business and enhancing infrastructure has played a crucial role in boosting exports.

Government Initiatives Driving Growth

Goyal emphasized various government initiatives, including the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and the National Logistics Policy, which have helped manufacturers become more competitive globally. He also pointed out that free trade agreements with countries like the UAE and Australia have opened new markets for Indian exporters.
