IndiGo Aims for 1,500+ Flights, Restores 95% Network After Major Disruptions
IndiGo to operate 1500+ flights, restores 95% connectivity

IndiGo, India's largest airline, is making a significant recovery after days of severe operational disruptions, aiming to operate more than 1,500 flights by the end of Saturday. This marks a dramatic improvement from Friday, when the carrier managed just over 700 flights following a major system-wide reset.

From 700 to 1500: A Day of Rapid Recovery

The airline confirmed that Saturday's operations showed "early signs of improvement" after it executed a full reboot of its network and reorganised crew rosters. This strategic move allowed IndiGo to re-establish connectivity to 135 out of its 138 destinations, effectively restoring over 95 per cent of its network. An IndiGo spokesperson stated that the primary goal was to restart systems from scratch to achieve greater stability and a higher number of daily flights.

Focus on Stabilisation and Passenger Support

While celebrating the progress, the airline emphasised that the journey back to full normalcy is ongoing. "We still have a long way to go," the airline noted, reaffirming its commitment to rebuilding trust with its passengers. Key focus areas include stabilising schedules, minimising delays, and prioritising customer refunds. The carrier is coordinating closely with airports to ensure timely flight updates are communicated via terminal displays, its official website, and direct passenger notifications.

Passengers are strongly advised to check the latest flight status on the airline's portal before heading to the airport. The good news for travellers is that the number of cancelled flights has seen a sharp decline, dropping to below 850 on Saturday, a figure substantially lower than the previous day's cancellations.

Gratitude for Patience During the Crisis

IndiGo extended its thanks to all stakeholders who helped navigate the challenging period. The airline expressed gratitude to its government partners and agencies for their support. It also offered "heartfelt gratitude" to its customers and employees for their demonstrated patience and cooperation during the widespread operational hurdles. The carrier assures that its teams remain dedicated to supporting customers as the situation continues to show steady improvement across all airports.
