Karnataka's Large and Medium Industries Minister MB Patil on Wednesday set a 100-day deadline for completing all work related to the digitisation initiative of the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB). The move aims to streamline land acquisition and industrial development processes through modernisation.
Digitisation Drive to Enhance Transparency
The minister emphasised that the digitisation project would bring greater transparency and efficiency to KIADB's operations. He instructed officials to expedite the process and ensure that all records, including land allotments and industrial approvals, are digitised within the stipulated timeframe.
Integration with State Portals
Patil also directed that the digitised data be integrated with state government portals to provide seamless access to investors and the public. This integration is expected to reduce paperwork and processing times, making Karnataka more attractive for industrial investments.
- Key Benefits: Faster approvals, reduced corruption, and improved data management.
- Timeline: All work to be completed within 100 days from June 10, 2026.
- Monitoring: A dedicated team will oversee the progress and report weekly.
Officials have been asked to prioritise the digitisation of pending land acquisition cases and ensure that all historical records are converted to digital format. The minister warned of strict action against any delays or negligence.
The initiative is part of the state government's broader push towards e-governance and ease of doing business. KIADB, which is responsible for industrial infrastructure development, currently manages over 100 industrial areas across Karnataka.
