A textile businessman in Ludhiana has been defrauded of Rs 1.05 crore by a buyer who gained his trust and purchased a large quantity of goods but later failed to make payment. Following a thorough investigation, the police registered a case on Tuesday.

Complaint and Investigation

The case was registered based on a complaint filed by Dinesh Agarwal, owner of MGK Fabric Private Limited, located on Tajpur Road. Agarwal told the police that the suspect defrauded him under the guise of a legitimate business transaction. A detailed probe by senior officials into the transaction, which took place before October 28, 2025, confirmed the veracity of the complaint. Consequently, the police registered a case against the suspect.

Suspect Identified

The suspect has been identified as Prabhsimran Singh, who owns Arvind Knitwear, situated on RK Road. According to the complaint, Singh purchased fabrics worth approximately Rs 1.05 crore from Agarwal's firm. After taking delivery of the goods, he failed to pay the amount or provide any satisfactory explanation for the non-payment.

The police are now investigating the matter further to recover the defrauded amount and take appropriate legal action against the accused.
