Sangh Parivar to Boost Rural Economy via Arthik Swaraj

Nagpur: The Sangh Parivar has formulated strategies to boost the rural economy by adopting the Arthik Swaraj (economic self-rule) model, which was proposed by its ideologue, the late Dattopant Thengdi, and incorporating elements from Mahatma Gandhi's village-based industry model.

Focus on Balutedari System

Emphasis will be placed on the 12 Balutedari system, an ancient tradition of hereditary artisans in Maharashtra, aligning with the state's goal of achieving a trillion-dollar economy. The plan involves defining these 12 castes by their traditional roles in rural areas and strengthening the Balutedari system as a foundation for society.

Think Tank in Wardha

A think tank, the Institute of Indian Economics, is also planned in Wardha. Thengdi, who was the founder of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), the trade union wing of the RSS, advocated protecting local industries.
