Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB) has officially opened its first permanent campus in Beijing, a significant milestone in the institution's 23-year history of cultivating leaders equipped to navigate an increasingly complex global landscape. The announcement was made on June 3, 2026.
Strategic Location in the Heart of Beijing
Situated in Beijing's Ciqikou area, often referred to as 'China's Gateway,' the new campus occupies a unique geographical and symbolic position. On one side lie the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven, representing China's deep historical and cultural heritage. On the other side stands Beijing's Central Business District, a testament to the country's modern dynamism and innovation. This placement reflects CKGSB's mission to act as a bridge between China's past and its future, as well as between China and the wider world.
A Legacy of Leadership Development
Founded in 2002, shortly after China's accession to the World Trade Organization, CKGSB has spent over two decades advancing business education and management research. The school has focused on helping leaders understand China's evolving role in the global economy. The new campus enhances the school's ability to connect academic research with practical business applications, deepen its engagement with China's business ecosystem, and contribute to global discourse from the nation's capital.
Campus Design and Features
The 30,000-square-meter campus boasts a façade inspired by a vessel setting sail, symbolizing CKGSB's commitment to guiding leaders through uncertainty and toward new opportunities. At its core, a 17-meter-high atrium, inspired by the ancient Greek Agora, serves as a dynamic learning hub. This space is designed to foster collaboration among faculty, students, alumni, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and scholars, encouraging the exchange of ideas and the translation of insight into action.
Focus on Innovation and Global Vision
As China's first privately-funded, research-driven business school, CKGSB emphasizes the development of decision-makers with a global perspective, social responsibility, and an innovative mindset. Notably, 95% of CKGSB's 25,000 alumni are business leaders who collectively manage one-fifth of China's most valuable brands. The new campus is a testament to the collective support of this community, whose contributions turned a long-held vision into reality.
New EMBA Cohort Welcomed
On the same day, CKGSB welcomed 275 new Executive MBA students from its Spring 2026 cohort to the new campus. Among these EMBA students, 75% hold positions as either chairmen or CEOs, and more than half lead high-tech enterprises or hidden champions in China. Additionally, two of the students are at the helm of unicorn companies.
Upcoming Events and Lectures
In the coming months, CKGSB will host a series of lectures and conferences at the new Beijing campus, covering topics such as artificial intelligence and innovation, leadership, China's economic outlook, and the future of global business.
