New Powertrain Additions

Tata Motors added a new engine to the Punch facelift. This engine is a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol motor. It already powers the bigger Tata Nexon SUV. The engine pairs with a six-speed manual gearbox. It produces 118 bhp of peak power and 170 Nm of maximum torque. You can get this new powertrain in the mid-level Adventure trim and the top-end Accomplished+ S trim.

CNG-AMT Combination

Another interesting addition is the CNG-AMT combination. This blend offers the convenience of clutch-less driving and the fuel efficiency of CNG. The combination works with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. It is available in the Pure+, Adventure, and Adventure S trims.

Existing Powertrain Options

The rest of the powertrain combinations remain unchanged. The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine continues. It comes with a five-speed manual gearbox or a five-speed AMT unit. A twin-cylinder CNG kit is also available with this engine.

When running on petrol, the 1.2-litre NA engine generates 86.5 bhp power and 115 Nm torque. On CNG, it produces 72 bhp power and 103 Nm torque.
