BMW Group India has driven past all previous records, announcing its most successful sales year ever in 2025. The luxury automaker delivered a total of 18,001 cars during the calendar year, marking a significant 14 percent increase compared to its 2024 performance.
Electric Revolution and Segment Leaders
The standout story of the year was the explosive growth of electric vehicles (EVs). BMW Group India sold 3,753 electric cars in 2025, which represents a staggering 200 percent year-on-year growth. Consequently, EVs now make up 21 percent of the company's total car sales, a massive leap from just 8 percent in the previous year.
Another major growth area was the long-wheelbase (LWB) models from BMW. Sales in this segment grew by an impressive 162 percent to reach 8,608 units. These models now account for a substantial 50 percent of BMW's total car sales in India, up from 29 percent in 2024. The BMW 3 Series continued its dominance as the brand's highest-selling premium sedan.
SUV Dominance and Strong Fourth Quarter
Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) remained the cornerstone of BMW's success in the Indian market. SUV deliveries rose by 22 percent to 10,748 units, constituting 60 percent of the group's total car sales. The BMW X1 emerged as the highest-selling SUV, followed by the BMW X5.
The final quarter of the year, from October to December 2025, was particularly robust. BMW Group India recorded its best-ever Q4 performance, selling 6,023 cars and registering a 17 percent growth compared to the same period in 2024.
MINI and Motorrad Performance
Within the group's car sales, the core BMW brand accounted for 17,271 units, while the MINI brand contributed 730 units, posting a 3 percent growth. The MINI Cooper S was the top performer for the brand, witnessing a 47 percent surge in deliveries.
In the two-wheeler segment, BMW Motorrad delivered 5,841 motorcycles in India during 2025. The BMW G 310 RR was the highest-selling model, with deliveries growing by 24 percent. The brand also noted increased demand for its high-end imported motorcycles, led by models like the BMW S 1000 RR and the GS Adventure range.
This record-breaking performance underscores BMW Group India's strengthening position in the country's premium automotive market, driven by a diversified portfolio and a strong consumer shift towards electric and luxury vehicles.
