Bokaro Steel Plant to Establish Kritagyata Park in Sector-11

The Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) is currently in the advanced planning stages of establishing a dedicated public space known as Kritagyata Park within the township's Sector-11. This significant initiative is specifically designed to honor, commemorate, and showcase the profound history and invaluable contributions of the displaced families whose land was acquired during the establishment of the steel plant. The park aims to serve as a permanent memorial and educational center for visitors from across India and abroad.

DC Ajay Nath Jha Inspects Land and Issues Directives

On Wednesday, Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha conducted a thorough inspection of the land that has been identified for the proposed Kritagyata Park. Following his visit, he provided clear and detailed directives to the BSL management regarding the park's development. Jha emphasized that the park must be meticulously designed to authentically reflect the historical narrative, the immense struggles, and the substantial contributions of the displaced people.

"The BSL management has been instructed to develop the park in a manner that truly mirrors the history, struggle, and contribution of displaced people whose land was acquired during the establishment of the steel plant," stated DC Jha. "This park should be crafted as a meaningful and impactful public space where all visitors can gain a deep understanding of the sacrifices made by the local communities in the development of this industrial township."

Jha has further mandated that the park include comprehensive historical documentation and engaging visual installations to effectively convey the stories and experiences of the displaced families.

Park Development Details and Timeline

BSL officials have confirmed that the proposed Kritagyata Park will be developed on approximately 1.5 acres of land. The initial development work has already commenced, with land leveling activities currently in progress. This foundational work will be systematically followed by subsequent phases, including the construction of pathways, extensive plantation efforts, and overall beautification projects.

"Development work has already been initiated with land leveling activity currently underway. This will be followed by other essential works such as pathways, plantation, and beautification. All possible efforts and resources will be dedicated to completing this project at the earliest feasible time," explained Manikant Dhan, BSL's Chief of Communication.

The park is envisioned not merely as a recreational area but as a dedicated space where individuals can learn about the significant sacrifices made by local communities during the creation of the industrial township and their crucial role in the overall development of Bokaro. This project underscores BSL's commitment to preserving historical memory and acknowledging the foundational contributions of its early residents.
