Gayatri Renewable Energy Ethanol Plant Foundation Laid in Nellore District
In a significant development for industrialisation in the Kovur constituency, the foundation stone was ceremoniously laid for the Gayatri Renewable Energy ethanol plant on Sunday. The event took place at the IFFCO Kisan Special Economic Zone (SEZ) located in Regadichilaka village within Kodavaluru mandal of Nellore district.
Three-Decade Wait Culminates in Landmark Project
This landmark project represents the culmination of a prolonged three-decade wait for local farmers who had previously parted with their agricultural land for the establishment of the SEZ. The long-anticipated industrial facility is now set to become a reality, bringing substantial economic benefits to the region.
Substantial Investment and Employment Generation
Speaking to reporters after the foundation stone laying ceremony, Nellore Member of Parliament Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy provided crucial details about the project's scope and impact. The ethanol plant is being established with a substantial investment of Rs 260 crore and is projected to create significant employment opportunities in the area.
The facility will provide direct employment to 200 individuals while generating indirect employment for an additional 700 people, resulting in a total of 900 jobs being created through this single industrial initiative.
Boost to Local Agrarian Economy
One of the most significant aspects of this ethanol plant is its direct connection to the agricultural sector. The facility has been designed with the capacity to consume approximately 1.5 lakh tonnes of grain annually. This substantial demand for agricultural produce is expected to provide a major boost to the local agrarian economy.
Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy emphasized that this stable demand will offer farmers a reliable market for their produce, potentially improving their economic stability and reducing market uncertainties that often plague agricultural communities.
Integration of Agriculture and Industry
Kovur Telugu Desam Party legislator and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams board member Vemireddy Prashanti Reddy highlighted the project's alignment with broader state objectives. She noted that the ethanol plant represents a strategic integration of agriculture with industrial growth, particularly through the production of ethanol.
Ethanol production has gained increasing importance in recent years as the government promotes blending of this biofuel with conventional petroleum fuels. This initiative supports both agricultural development and the nation's renewable energy goals simultaneously.
Political Support and Participation
The foundation stone laying ceremony witnessed participation from several prominent political figures. Alongside the two Vemireddy representatives, Rajya Sabha MP Beeda Masthan Rao and TDP MLC Beeda Ravichandra were among the dignitaries who attended the significant event, demonstrating broad political support for this industrial development in Nellore district.
The establishment of the Gayatri Renewable Energy ethanol plant at IFFCO Kisan SEZ marks a transformative moment for industrial development in the region, promising economic growth, employment generation, and strengthened linkages between agriculture and industry in Andhra Pradesh.
