Godlike Esports, after finishing last on Day 1 with just 20 points, staged a historic comeback to win the BMPS 2026 Grand Finals in Jaipur on June 22. The tournament, organized by KRAFTON India, set new records with a peak of 729,000 concurrent viewers and over 12,000 in-person attendees across three days at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC).
Comeback Story: From Last Place to Champions
Godlike Esports, led by in-game leader Manya, finished Day 1 in last place (20th) with only 20 points. However, the team of Manya, Admino, Spower, Saumay, and GodZ rebounded with a 70-point Day 2, climbing into contention. On the final day, they delivered under pressure to secure the title. Manya was seen breaking down emotionally as teammates, friends, and family rushed the stage, marking a redemption arc for an organization that had never won an official BGMI title despite being one of the sport's most popular names.
Record-Breaking Viewership and Attendance
The BMPS 2026 Grand Finals peaked at 729,000 concurrent viewers, the highest ever for an esports event in India. The JECC arena drew over 12,000 fans across the three days, a landmark for a BGMI LAN in India and a sign of the sport's growing footprint beyond metro markets. The tournament featured a INR 4 crore prize pool, doubled from INR 2 crore by KRAFTON India on June 8, with Godlike Esports taking home INR 1 crore as champions.
Other Top Performances
Divine Gaming, led by standout performer SLUG (Sonigra Raghuraj Singh) playing on home soil in Rajasthan, finished on the podium after leading the standings for most of the Grand Finals. Victores Sumus (VS) recovered from 15th after Day 1 to claim a podium finish, thanks to two Chicken Dinners and an explosive Day 2. In the final match, Jonathan Amaral, India's most celebrated BGMI player and founder of Team Apex Gaming, secured a Chicken Dinner that surged his squad nine places up the final standings in a single game. In their first BMPS appearance, TAG signed off with a memorable final match.
BMPS 2026 Format and Prize Pool
BMPS 2026 was the richest and most expansive edition to date. Sixty-four of India's top teams competed over six weeks starting May 6, using a new Promotion and Relegation format in the Qualifiers before the field was reduced to 16 for the LAN in Jaipur. The prize pool of INR 4 crore was distributed among all 16 finalists. Godlike Esports also earned the right to represent India at the Esports World Cup 2026 as BMPS champions, while iQOO Orangutan secured the second India slot by finishing first in the KRAFTON India Esports Rankings after BMPS 2026.
