Haryana's Rs 70,000 Cr Push: RRTS, 10,000-Acre City & Worker Housing
Haryana CM Unveils Massive Industrial & Infrastructure Push

In a significant move to bolster Haryana's industrial and urban landscape, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has unveiled a comprehensive development blueprint. The plan, discussed during pre-budget consultations with industry leaders, focuses on enhancing worker living conditions, massive industrial zone expansion, and mega connectivity projects like the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS).

Housing for Workers and Massive Industrial Expansion

The government has taken a concrete step to improve living conditions for the workforce near major industrial hubs. Land has been specifically earmarked for building dormitories and single-room accommodations. A total of 5 acres in IMT Bawal, 2.76 acres in IMT Faridabad, and 5.47 acres in IMT Sohna have been allocated for this purpose.

Simultaneously, the state is embarking on a major expansion of its industrial model townships (IMTs). The most notable is the identification of nearly 5,800 acres for expanding IMT Kharkhoda. This land will be acquired under the Industrial Policy–2022 at a rate of Rs 3 crore per acre, signaling a rapid scaling-up of industrial capacity.

Mega Projects: Satellite City, RRTS, and Convention Centre

The vision extends beyond immediate industrial needs. In Sonipat's Kharkhoda, the government plans a 10,000-acre satellite city designed to support future population growth and economic activity. For better connectivity, the detailed project report (DPR) for the Rs 70,000 crore RRTS corridor is ready, and tenders are expected to be floated soon.

Further boosting infrastructure, a wholesale market is proposed in Rai, which has already drawn early interest from traders. The state has also reaffirmed its commitment to developing an Electric Vehicle (EV) Park. Additionally, a convention centre is planned in Manesar, aiming to position the region as a hub for large-scale business events.

Budget Focused on Implementable Suggestions

CM Nayab Singh Saini outlined these initiatives during a series of pre-budget meetings with stakeholders. He emphasized that the upcoming state budget will have a special focus on provisions for industrial development. "The more concrete and implementable the suggestions, the more effective the budget will be," said Saini. He assured that every proposal from industry leaders would be considered seriously.

The CM also pointed to the government's track record, noting that many announcements from the last budget have become reality. One such example is the recent launch of a portal for industries operating outside designated zones to apply for regularisation, a promise made in the previous fiscal plan.

This multi-pronged strategy, encompassing housing, industrial land, futuristic cities, and high-speed transit, aims to create a robust ecosystem that strengthens Haryana's position as a premier investment and manufacturing destination in North India.
