Haryana Introduces Online CLU Policy to Streamline Industrial Investment

In a significant move to enhance industrial growth, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced on Saturday that the state is developing a policy to allow investors to obtain Change of Land Use (CLU) certificates online for setting up industrial units in 10 upcoming Industrial Model Townships (IMTs). This initiative aims to eliminate the need for physical visits to government offices, simplifying the process for businesses.

Boosting Industrial Infrastructure and Attracting Global Companies

Highlighting Haryana's longstanding efforts, Saini noted that 250 Fortune 500 companies currently have offices in the state. He expressed confidence that the new industrial townships will attract more such firms in the near future. The CM emphasized that the state's industrial infrastructure is being meticulously planned to avoid issues for the next 50 years, ensuring sustainable development.

Leveraging the India-EU Trade Deal for Investment Growth

Saini stated that Haryana is poised to play a pivotal role in attracting investment following the recent India-EU trade agreement, which he described as the 'mother of all deals.' He mentioned that members of the Haryana European Trade Association have welcomed this development and shown increased interest in investing in the state. The CM recalled his meeting with the association, noting that their suggestions will be incorporated into the upcoming state budget to foster an investment-friendly environment.

Reflecting on past concerns, Saini said, "Earlier when I met people in Panipat, they were worried about high tariffs. Now that situation has changed," indicating improved conditions due to the trade deal.

Addressing Agricultural and Environmental Challenges

On environmental issues, the CM outlined Haryana's focus on combating stubble burning and reducing chemical fertilizer use. He announced plans to establish the state's identity in natural farming and decrease reliance on chemical soil nutrients. Saini reported that due to state efforts, incidents of stubble burning have reduced by up to 95%, and he vowed to eliminate the problem entirely.

Comprehensive Solutions for Gurgaon's Civic Issues

In response to civic challenges in Gurgaon, a major corporate hub, Saini detailed a drainage plan for low-lying areas. This plan involves diverting water to the Yamuna River and treating it at sewage treatment plants for agricultural use. Additionally, a comprehensive strategy has been formulated to ensure Gurgaon does not face drinking water shortages over the next 50 years, addressing long-term sustainability concerns.

Overall, these initiatives underscore Haryana's commitment to industrial growth, environmental sustainability, and urban development, positioning the state as a key player in India's economic landscape.
