Maruti Suzuki Victoris Begins Global Export as 'Across' from Indian Shores
Maruti Suzuki Victoris Exported Globally as 'Across'

Maruti Suzuki India has officially launched the global export of its domestically manufactured Victoris SUV. The company confirmed this major move today, marking a significant step for Indian automotive manufacturing on the world stage.

From India to the World

The Victoris model is produced exclusively within India. Maruti Suzuki will now ship this vehicle to numerous international markets. Key regions include Latin America, the Middle East, and various African nations.

For these global customers, the SUV will carry the name Across. The export process is already underway. More than 450 vehicles have begun their journey from Indian ports. These units sailed from Mundra and Pipavav ports located in Gujarat.

Expansive Export Plans

The company has ambitious targets for this model. Officials stated the Victoris, or Across, is planned for export to over 100 countries and regions worldwide. This initiative highlights India's growing role as a key automotive export hub.

The Victoris in the Indian Market

Back home in India, the Maruti Suzuki Victoris is available for customers. It comes in a total of six distinct variants. These are labeled as LXI, VXI, ZXI, ZXI(O), ZXI+, and ZXI+(O). The starting price for the SUV is Rs 10.49 lakh, ex-showroom.

Design and Styling

The Victoris draws inspiration from Maruti's existing SUV family but establishes its own unique character. Its design features an upright silhouette and muscular proportions, giving it a commanding road presence.

In terms of size, it slightly surpasses the Grand Vitara, especially in length. This results in a more spacious cabin for passengers. The exterior styling adopts a sharper, contemporary look.

Notable design elements include slim LED headlamps and connected tail-lamps. The body surfaces are tidy with minimal cladding. Other exterior highlights consist of 18-inch alloy wheels, blacked-out pillars, and silver roof rails. An LED light bar and prominent 'VICTORIS' lettering at the rear complete the look.

Interior Features and Technology

Inside the cabin, the Victoris is packed with modern amenities. It offers 8-way adjustable and ventilated front seats for comfort. A sunroof and 60W fast charging support are also included.

The SUV integrates advanced technology features. It comes with an auto Alexa voice assistant powered by AI. The Suzuki Connect system provides over 60 connected car features. A powered tailgate with gesture control adds convenience.

Additional interior comforts include ambient lighting. For infotainment and information, drivers get a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen system. An 8-speaker surround sound system enhances the audio experience.

Powertrain and Performance Options

The new Victoris offers buyers a choice between two engine options. The first is a conventional 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. This unit generates 103 horsepower and 139 Newton-meters of torque.

For this engine, transmission choices include a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. An All-Wheel Drive (AWD) option is also available. Furthermore, a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) variant with an underbody tank is offered.

The second powertrain is a 1.5-litre strong hybrid petrol engine. This hybrid system is paired exclusively with an e-CVT automatic transmission, focusing on fuel efficiency and smoother performance.

This export launch represents a proud moment for Maruti Suzuki and India's manufacturing sector, showcasing domestic capability to the global automotive community.
