MPIDC Plans 9 New Industrial Areas in Indore Region

MPIDC Announces Major Industrial Expansion in Indore Region

The Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation has revealed ambitious plans to significantly boost industrial infrastructure in western Madhya Pradesh. During the current calendar year, the corporation will develop nine new industrial areas across the Indore region.

Building on Recent Success

This announcement follows a successful year for industrial development in the region. In 2025, authorities allocated 1,285 hectares of land to 125 different industries. These allocations attracted proposed investments totaling an impressive Rs 21,695 crore.

Official sources confirm that the corporation's roadmap for 2026 focuses on creating a diverse land bank. This strategic approach aims to accommodate both heavy industries and micro, small, and medium enterprises.

Major Industrial Townships in Development

The largest proposed development is the new industrial township at Sector 8 in Bardari, Indore district. This massive project will cover 451 hectares of land.

Two other significant clusters are also in the works. Authorities plan to develop a 275-hectare industrial area at Khawasa in Seoni district. Additionally, they will create a 256-hectare zone at Tarapur in Neemuch district.

For large-scale manufacturing units, the corporation will develop Sector 9 at Bhatkhedi in Indore district. This industrial area will span 208 hectares.

Supporting Smaller Enterprises

Beyond these major townships, the plan includes strengthening smaller industrial clusters. These smaller pockets will specifically support MSMEs and ancillary units.

The corporation identified four locations for these smaller developments:

  • Nimrani Phase 2 covering 61 hectares
  • Rayan spanning 35 hectares
  • Bhavsinghpura with 32 hectares
  • Machal occupying 23 hectares

Creating Ready Infrastructure

MPIDC executive engineer Himanshu Prajapati emphasized the corporation's focus on creating a ready land bank for investors. The region is witnessing diversified investment interest, Prajapati stated.

We are fast-tracking infrastructure in these new areas to provide possession-ready land to investors immediately, he explained. Our objective for 2026 is to ensure we have a ready-to-move land bank.

Prajapati confirmed that development work is accelerating, particularly in large townships like Bardari and Bhatkhedi. The corporation aims to provide plug-and-play solutions that minimize setup time for businesses.

Prioritizing Basic Infrastructure

The corporation is prioritizing rapid development of essential infrastructure in these new zones. This includes constructing roads and establishing power connections as primary focus areas.

By developing this basic infrastructure quickly, MPIDC hopes to significantly reduce waiting periods for investors. This approach ensures that businesses can begin operations soon after acquiring land in these new industrial areas.
