The city of Nagpur is preparing to host a grand celebration of female enterprise and creativity. The much-anticipated Perception Expo 2025 is scheduled to take place from December 6 to December 9 at the SCZCC in Civil Lines. This significant event is being organized by the Gayatri Mahila Audyogik Sahakari Sanstha in partnership with the MSME DFO Nagpur.
A Platform for Empowerment and Innovation
Designed as a comprehensive platform for women from various production backgrounds, the expo aims to highlight creativity, talent, and innovation. Its core mission is to foster a spirit of economic independence among women. Kanchan Gadkari, the president of the sanstha, stressed the critical need for self-reliance. She urged that "Mahila Udyogika must be encouraged to stand on their own feet and move forward with confidence." This statement underscores the expo's foundational goal of empowering women through entrepreneurship.
What to Expect at the Expo
Visitors will be treated to a vibrant display of products across 65 dedicated stalls. The offerings will represent a wide array of handmade and locally crafted goods, ensuring a diverse shopping experience. The product range will include:
- Unique décor items and traditional ornaments.
- Handcrafted jewellery and household essentials.
- A special stall featuring the celebrated Dhapewada sarees.
Additionally, a variety of food stalls will be present, offering snacks and refreshments to all attendees.
Inauguration and Visitor Information
The expo will be formally inaugurated on December 6 at 4:30 pm. The inauguration ceremony will be graced by VR Shirsat, Director of MSME DFO, as the inaugurator, with SCZCC Director Aastha Karlekar serving as the chief guest. In a move to encourage maximum public participation, entry to the expo has been kept free for all visitors. Women entrepreneurs showcasing their products will contribute a nominal fee for their stalls.
This event marks a crucial step in recognizing and amplifying the contributions of women to the local and regional economy. It provides a direct channel for entrepreneurs to connect with customers and gain valuable market exposure, turning the spotlight on Nagpur's thriving community of women-led businesses.
