Rajkot Railway Division Posts Historic Revenue of Rs 2,711 Crore in 2025-26

The Rajkot division of Western Railway has achieved a remarkable financial milestone, reporting a record annual revenue of Rs 2,711 crore for the 2025-26 financial year. This represents a substantial growth rate of 10.43% compared to the previous year's revenue of Rs 2,455.94 crore, highlighting a period of exceptional operational performance and strategic management.

Strong Performance Across All Sectors Drives Growth

Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Giriraj Kumar Meena attributed this significant achievement to robust performance across all key operational sectors. The division's revenue streams demonstrated impressive gains, with freight earnings leading the charge at Rs 2,238.34 crore, followed by passenger revenue of Rs 437.43 crore and other sources contributing Rs 35.09 crore.

Freight Revenue Hits 11-Year High with Notable Increases

Freight revenue surged to Rs 2,238.34 crore, marking a 10.41% increase over the previous year. DRM Meena emphasized that this performance is the division's best in freight over the past 11 years. The division handled an impressive 11.95 million tonnes of cargo, reflecting a 10.60% growth in volume. Daily loading operations averaged 574 wagons, which is a 10% rise from prior levels, underscoring enhanced efficiency and capacity utilization in freight services.

Passenger Services Show Robust Growth and High Reliability

Passenger services also exhibited strong growth, with revenue increasing by 9.77% to reach Rs 437.43 crore. The division served approximately 1.30 crore passengers, a notable 15.94% increase in ridership. Train operations maintained high standards of reliability, achieving an outstanding 95.23% punctuality rate, which has contributed to improved customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

This comprehensive performance across freight and passenger segments underscores the Rajkot division's pivotal role in Western Railway's overall success, setting a new benchmark for railway operations in the region.
