Kolkata: Prasoon Mukherjee, chairman of Singapore-based Universal Success Enterprises (USEL), met West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Monday and expressed interest in investing in a logistics park. Mukherjee, who also chairs the Singapore Business Federation (India Business Council), discussed other potential investment avenues with the CM.
Investment Interest in Bengal
Mukherjee told TOI that USEL is keen to invest in Bengal. He said the group is developing industrial parks across India and will focus on sustainable projects aligned with India's 2030 carbon neutrality targets. Reflecting on his meeting with Adhikari, Mukherjee stated, "I am overwhelmed to see that CM is so keen and determined to bring back the old glory of Bengal. We are confident that under his leadership, Bengal will witness a new dawn."
CM's Response
Later, CM Adhikari posted on X: "It was a pleasure meeting Prasoon Mukherjee, who paid a courtesy visit today at Nabanna. Looking forward to fostering impactful collaborations like this for exploring potential avenues of growth and strategic development that can create opportunities and build a brighter future for the People of West Bengal." As SBF chairman, Mukherjee had earlier invited members of the CII state council to visit Singapore and explore investment possibilities in Bengal.

USEL is a diversified conglomerate operating in mega-township development, industrial and logistics parks, data centers, business and IT parks, coal mining, renewable energy, and hospitality across Southeast Asia. It has investment exposure in Gujarat, Haryana, Assam, and Uttar Pradesh. The company recently announced an investment of Rs 13,000 crore in Haryana and has proposed a state-of-the-art logistics park in Assam. Additionally, USEL is developing a 500MW solar park in Gujarat along with an industrial park, and in Uttar Pradesh, it is setting up data center and industrial parks.
